The short version. We collect your mobile number, basic profile details and how you use the app. Listeners additionally complete identity verification. We do not sell your data. We do not share your phone number with Listeners. You can delete your account, and your data, at any time from within the app.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Nexvert Technologies ("TrueLine", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use the TrueLine app or truelineapp.in.
For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, Nexvert Technologies is the Data Fiduciary and you are the Data Principal.
Registered office: 180/2, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560068, India.
2. What we collect
2.1 From all users
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Mobile number | To create and secure your account, and to sign you in via OTP |
| Display name, age confirmation, language preference | To set up your profile and match you with Listeners who speak your language |
| Coin balance and transaction history | To operate the wallet, bill calls accurately and resolve billing disputes |
| Call metadata — who you called, when, and for how long (not the conversation itself) | To bill correctly, calculate Listener earnings, and investigate reports |
| Chat messages sent on the Platform | To deliver messages and investigate reports of misconduct |
| Device and technical data — device model, OS version, app version, IP address, crash logs | To keep the app working, fix faults and detect fraud or abuse |
2.2 Additionally from Listeners
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Live selfie and liveness check result | To confirm a real person is registering and prevent impersonation |
| Identity verification result via DigiLocker, including verified name, date of birth and a verification reference | To verify identity and confirm the Listener is 18 or over, as required to take paid calls |
| UPI ID or bank details | To pay Listener earnings |
| Voice introduction recording | Displayed on the Listener's profile in place of a photograph |
On Aadhaar: identity verification is carried out through DigiLocker. We do not store your full Aadhaar number and we do not store a copy of your Aadhaar document. We retain only the verification reference issued by DigiLocker, and the verified name and date of birth returned by it.
2.3 What we do not collect
- We do not collect your contact list.
- We do not collect precise GPS location.
- We do not require a profile photograph from users or Listeners.
3. Why we collect it
We process personal data only for the specific purposes set out below:
- To provide the service — creating your account, connecting calls, delivering chats, operating the coin wallet.
- To verify identity — confirming Listeners are real, verified adults.
- To process payments and payouts — including tax deductions required by law.
- To keep the Platform safe — investigating reports, detecting fraud, enforcing our Terms.
- To support you — responding to your questions and complaints.
- To improve the app — diagnosing faults and understanding aggregate usage patterns.
- To meet legal obligations — including retention of financial records and responding to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
4. Consent and withdrawal
Where we rely on your consent, we ask for it clearly, for a specific purpose, before collecting the data — for example, before the face verification step during Listener onboarding.
You may withdraw consent at any time from within the app at Settings → Privacy. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, and some features may stop working if the data is essential to them.
5. Calls and chats
Calls take place over the internet inside the app. Your phone number is never shared with a Listener, and a Listener's number is never shared with you.
Call recording
Calls on TrueLine are recorded. Both people on the call are clearly told this at the start of every call, before the conversation begins.
We record calls for two reasons only:
- Safety — so that a report of abuse, harassment or misconduct can be properly investigated rather than treated as one person's word against another's.
- Dispute resolution — to resolve billing or service complaints fairly.
How recordings are handled:
- Recordings are encrypted and stored separately from your profile data.
- They are accessible only to a small number of authorised safety and support staff, and every access is logged.
- They are never shared with other users, with Listeners, or with advertisers, and are never used to train any AI system or for marketing.
- They are automatically deleted after 30 days, unless retained longer because they are subject to an active investigation, an unresolved dispute, or a legal or law-enforcement requirement.
- You may request deletion of a recording of your own call by contacting our Grievance Officer, subject to the exceptions above.
6. Who we share data with
We share personal data only where necessary, and only with:
- Payment providers — to process recharges and Listener payouts. They receive only what is needed to complete the transaction.
- Identity verification providers — to verify Listener identity.
- Cloud hosting and communications providers — to run the app and connect calls.
- Professional advisers — such as auditors and lawyers, where required.
- Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to disclose, or where necessary to protect the safety of a person.
Our processors are bound by contract to protect your data and to use it only for the purposes we specify.
7. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile data | While your account is active; deleted or anonymised after account deletion |
| Transaction and payment records | 8 years, as required under Indian tax and company law |
| Listener KYC verification records | 8 years after the Listener leaves the Platform, as required for tax and audit |
| Call metadata | 12 months |
| Chat messages | 12 months, or until account deletion |
| Reports and safety records | 3 years, to enforce repeat-offender policies |
8. How we protect it
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Identity documents and verification records are access-controlled and available only to authorised staff who need them.
- Access to production systems is restricted and logged.
- Payment credentials are handled by our payment providers — we do not store card or UPI credentials.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
- Correction and updating — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — have your personal data deleted, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, as described in section 4.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us (section 14).
- Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these, use the options in the app at Settings → Privacy or write to our Grievance Officer. We will respond within 7 working days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app — no email, no request form, no waiting for approval.
When you do:
- your profile, chats and personal identifiers are deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days;
- financial and tax records are retained for the statutory period, as we are legally required to keep them;
- unused coins are forfeited and are not refundable in money.
11. Children
TrueLine is an 18+ platform. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. We do not carry out behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.
If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account, we will suspend it and delete the associated personal data. If you believe a minor is using TrueLine, contact us immediately at admin@truelineapp.in.
12. Data breaches
If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and each affected user, in the manner and within the timelines required under the DPDP Act and the DPDP Rules, 2025, describing the nature of the breach, its likely consequences, and the steps we are taking.
13. Storage and transfers
Personal data is stored on servers located in India. Where a service provider processes data outside India, we do so in compliance with the DPDP Act and any restrictions notified by the Government of India.
14. Grievance Officer
